Meetings of the Kootenai County Genealogical Society are held at 7 pm in the Hayden Library on the third Thursday of the following months: February- June; September-November. Visitors are always welcome and a wide variety of programs of interest are offered.

The Hayden library houses an extensive library of genealogical materials available to the public in its genealogy section, including the KCGS collection of Kootenai County materials, family tree research books and out-of–county books. The constantly growing collection (now well over 2000 books) also includes microfilmed records with reader on-site. The library version of the ever- popular Ancestry.com is available for use.

And, Wednesdays from 1-4 pm, KCGS has member-volunteers on hand to assist visitors and members with the search of records for their family trees. This popular free service is well received!
