The first annual open day with on-site genealogists from Kootenai County Genealogical Society, Hayden Lake Family History Center and local DAR and CAR chapters. Free genealogy help, raffle prizes and refreshments provided. Brown bag lunch. Finding Ancestors workshop begins promptly at 1:00 p.m. on the topic of "Help! The Courthouse Burned. Now What?"

FEEFHS Annual Eastern European Research Workshop
August 12–15, 2014

This annual workshop focuses on the records, tools, and methodologies needed to conduct research in Eastern European records, online, in microfilm, and on site. Additional Research Essentials track provides skills and background. Country tracks to include Germany, Poland, Russia, and more. Opens with an orientation of the Family History Library; closes with a banquet and keynote speaker. Includes individual consultation. Call for presentations soon going out. Full details on schedule and registration to be posted by Feb 1, 2014.

October 16: Philip Homan: "Queen of Diamonds: Kittie Wilkins, Horse Queen of Idaho, and the Wilkins Korse Company"
October 30: Tom Blanchard: "Mining in Idaho: Today and Yesterday"
